about the bobbin collective
I’m Carly, a mum who loves to sew. I was taught how to sew by my mother and grandmother when I was a child, but I picked it up earnestly when I was pregnant with my daughter. I wanted to make clothes that I liked and that would fit me! Since then I have been sewing religiously, making clothes not just for myself but for my daughter, my partner, friends and family. Sewing and creating has given me fulfilment, joy and a creative outlet that means so much to me as a busy mum. It’s so nice to say “thanks, I made it” when people compliment the things I’ve created!
I began The Bobbin Collective to bring others along the journey with me. I want sewing and making to bring as much joy and fulfilment as it does to me, to you. I have big dreams for this little business. Not only do I want to pass on the skills, but I want to create a community. So if you’re ready to slow down and make, then join us!
